Black played 1...N-Q6, threatening the rook and queen as well as QxP mate. If 2.RxN, then black plays 2...RxR mate. The game went:
2. RxR RxR
3. RxR Q-R8+
4. white resigns -- black will get the queen and bishop for the rook.

1. R-Q8+
If 1...BxR, then 2.B-B3+ and mate will follow. Makynen played 1...K-N2, which was followed with 2. R-N8 mate.

1. B-N5 traps the queen.
Black could play B-R3 and give up the bishop instead, but he chose:
1. ... Q-K4
2. P-B4 QxKP
3. N-N3
and Her Majesty falls to the rook.

1. Q-B4+, and black resigned.
If 1...K-B1, then 2.Q-B7 mate. Or, this smothered mate:
1. ... K-R1
2. N-B7+ K-N1
3. N-R6++ K-R1
4. Q-N8+ RxQ
5. N-B7 mate
