I like to work with acrylic paints because I am an impatient artist. In most cases paints are sufficiently dry in thirty minutes that I can paint into or over them almost right away. Oil paints, which I learned first, may take anywhere from an hour to a week to set up. I found I had a tendency to mess up paintings as a result of not waitning long enough for them to dry. Many of the images on the Open Studios are acrylic paintings.

Recently, I have been working on non-representational pieces that I call my Astral Series. A couple of them are shown below.
